The dream does not remember itself

From May 26 to June 9, the BIS ART Gallery will host the group exhibition «Sleep does not remember itself», where you can not only remember a forgotten dream, but also relive the very feeling of dreaming, its magic and mystery.

What remains of sleep after waking up? Indistinct silhouettes, fragments of dialogues, a feeling of flight and elusive images that melt away with every moment of reality.

At the hour when the world is enveloped in the silence of the night, and breathing becomes smooth and deep, the soul embarks on its most intimate journey — into the world of dreams, where reality melts. There are silver waves crashing and the whisper of the wind is heard, the silhouettes of loved ones are guessed, emerging and dissolving image by image. Dreams are a space where reason recedes before the charms of imagination, and familiar forms dissolve into the haze of the subconscious.

Waking up, there remains a subtle feeling of understatement — as if someone whispered a wonderful story in my ear, but did not have time to finish. A quiet but persistent desire to close my eyelids again asks me to slip back into a sweet sleep.

BIS ART Gallery artists have found their own way to keep things slipping away: they have captured what a person loses every morning. The exhibition «Sleep does not remember itself» is like turning over the pages from a personal dream diary, where each work is a memory of something very personal and reverent.
